What is Travelroo?
So Välkommen!
That, my travelroos, is Swedish for Welcome. For those of you who are rolling your eyes, I applaud your worldliness, or that you read the multi-language 'welcome' poster in elementary school.
The Creation
Whilst sitting ever so studiously in my fantastically drab English class, I as usual, began to leave the oppressive consciousness and drift into one of my various worlds. One of my most frequented destinations is Traveltopia, where the world is open to discovery. Whimsicalness aside, I've tried various lists to keep track of my destinations, but, being a young adult, always misplace them. So, seeing as I have yet to misplace the internet, I list them here.
What is it?
Travelroo is intended as a place for me to list various destinations that I find not only interesting, but obscure. There will be no long entries on the engineering of the Eiffel Tower or the grandeur of the Great Wall. If you are interested in reading a travel blog then I’m hoping you know a little bit about the world. In no way am I belittling these magnificent places, but I imagine if you’re there, you’ll go see it.
And?
Travelroo is also a place where I will post deals that I find. For instance, how about a 3-day weekend getaway to Cancun, hotel and flight, for $374? I am a college student, so money is rather tight. Deals aren’t limited to travel fares. If I find discounted climbing gear, excursion deals, camping equipment, et cetera, in it goes. Here’s a section you can help with. Got a deal? Everyone loves travel stories – as long as there isn’t a slideshow with a bad soundtrack. If you’ve had one, heard one, or are having one, send it in. Try to keep them personal though. If your friend’s cousin’s step-sister’s ex-boyfriend’s great-aunt Lucy’s pig saved them from a bear, have the pig get in touch.The Pictures
I don’t know how many pictures I can post or host or whatnot. I’ll just keep going ‘til I’m out. I’d love to post your picture, so send it in. Please no Googleshots. You know, the ones where if you typed in the keyword you’d get a duplicate image? Be creative!
